Houston Entertainment – The Best Food Experiences In Texas

Houston may be known for many things – a great arts scene, fabulous nightlife and some of the best scenery in Texas – but one thing that many people overlook is the fact that when it comes to sheer fun and entertainment the Houston culinary scene is able to hold its own against the best that the United States has to offer – after all they say that everything is bigger in Texas – but does that also apply to the amount of fun that you can have at Houston eateries?

Let’s have a look at that question and attempt to answer it.

If there is one word that you can use to describe the culinary scene in Houston it is eclectic – here is a city where one can have fun enjoying cross over cuisine from the Middle Est and also in the same city block settle down to some incredible live music and really let your hair down.

If you have a hankering for live Latin inspired music then the one place that you simply have to visit in Houston is Batanga. A huge outdoor patio area and dishes that are inspired by the cuisine of Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, Spain and Portugal means that there is simply something for everyone. The tapas here are simply suburb – as is the music.

If you are into Jazz then Café 4212 is just what the Jazz Doctor ordered. Combine the sometimes mellow and sometimes swinging sounds with some Southern favorites like Shrimp and Grits and fried Catfish and you have the recipe for a night of entertainment flavored with that true Southern style.

Dosey Doe serves up some incredible meals including the well known ‘Ginormous Chicken Fried Steak’ and purchase of that meal allows you to enjoy a great show which will leave your feet still tapping long after you have left the venue.

If you have a taste for rock, either on a patio in the good weather or inside then Last Concert Café is the place where you should be. You need to access your inner hippie sometimes – but the great Tex-Mex food will make that an easy trip back to the 60’s. Shake your tassels in front of the main stage and dig your feet into the sand – this is a place to let your hair down.

Houston has a great number of places for entertainment – but combining fun and food is something that this city excels at. Be sure to enjoy.
